| The clients were ready to upgrade their standard builder kitchen with custom finishes, better traffic flow and professional grade appliances. The breakfast area interrupted the ability of their guests to flow between the kitchen and family room. When people were seated at the breakfast table, it was difficult to pass between the rooms. Another dislike was that the kitchen sink and cooking area felt disconnected from each other. The island cabinet was very small and out of scale for the large kitchen. The large picture window over the sink looked out at the neighbor's brick wall. The florescent lighting box in the ceiling provided sufficient general room lighting but was unattractive to the owner's. The existing cabinets lacked decorative moldings, glass doors and featured an out-dated milk-wash finish. The sheet vinyl flooring was one of many finish treatments that screamed production builder quality.
